Proudly rated R
Since everyone else is doing it, I might as well. Not jumping off a bridge (I think about that often enough by my own damn self), but the meme that CL Psych posted about giving film-like ratings to blogs.
This rating was determined based on the presence of the following words:
* hell (4x)
* drugs (2x)
* rape (1x)
I never knew using the word “hell” was such a big deal. Well, I’m going to use it all I want, and we’re going to live like kings. Damn hell ass kings!
I wonder what I have to do to push it to an NC-17 rating. Talk more about rape flashbacks? Talk even more about meds, since I’ve never even mentioned illegal drugs on this blog (until now), but apparently the word “drugs” in any context is scandalous enough?
Update on my brother: nothing to report, really. He’s still in the hospital. They might let him out this weekend. Or after this weekend. Or something. They’re not telling him a whole lot. He is bored. I would be, too.

Mine was rated NC-17.
This rating was determined based on the presence of the following words:
* sex (48x)
* dangerous (12x)
* murder (8x)
* death (5x)
* pain (4x)
* hell (3x)
* hurt (2x)
* drugs (1x)
It’s kind of funny, because my blog is nothing near even what they show in a PG-13.

I am so jealous of you. I think I’m going to have to go back and do this again every now and then, just to see how long it takes to get to NC-17 without me trying on purpose. It’s already noticed more target words than it did twelve hours ago:
This rating was determined based on the presence of the following words:
* hell (7x)
* drugs (5x)
* rape (3x)
* suicide (2x)
* hurt (1x)

Yeah, I got NC-17 too. I’m kind of pissed that they’ve done away with the X-rating; I wanted to be the ‘Midnight Cowboy’ of bloggers.
From memory, swearing is likely to push you over the line.

To be specific:
sex (5x)
fuck (4x)
crap (3x)
suicide (2x)
asshole (1x)

“From memory, swearing is likely to push you over the line.”
I don’t know. They don’t make any mention of the obscenities in that word count, and I use all kinds of swear words.

Well, swearing certainly pushed me round the bend on Polarcoaster ’cause either Polly or her spamchecker didn’t publish my subsequent comment that listed all the swear words that earned me my NC-17 rating!

That’s nothing. Mine rated NC-17 on the basis of “zombie.” I’m not making this up. The fact that every other word in my blog contains some permutation of “fuck” was uninteresting to it. LOL!

Ruth, it was my spamchecker, not me. I think perhaps my spam thing didn’t like “asshole,” because it seems to have no problem with “fuck.” Well, that sounds weird out of context.
I can’t believe I have never used the word “zombie” on here. Aside from the whole obvious meds thing, I just really like zombies. Also, I say “crap” all the time. Have I really never said it on this blog, or is that rating site just being all confused again?

i had no idea “crap” was a bad word… what a potty mouth i have.
i hope brother is doing better when he’s released… i’d be plenty bored by now, too!
